About Supersleep

Supersleep is a sleep habit app for iPhone that helps people improve their sleep without scores, complex metrics, or a wearable. It combines science-informed habits with progressive goals, gentle reminders, a daily check-in, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and app blocking built on Apple’s Screen Time features. It is designed for people who found traditional sleep trackers stressful, or who want a gentle place to start.

Most sleep apps tell you how you slept after the night is already over. Supersleep helps you improve how you prepare for sleep while your choices can still make a difference. Instead of telling you to “perform” better at sleep, it gives you simple habits and a daily check-in to help you become more mindful of the routines that shape your nights. It also puts distracting apps out of reach during wind-down, at bedtime, and after you wake.

Key features

  • Habit-based sleep improvement. Focus on healthy sleep habits instead of scores and overwhelming metrics.
  • Progressive habits. Start small, such as stopping caffeine 5 hours before bedtime, then gradually work toward the ideal habit.
  • App blocking. Choose distracting apps to pause automatically during wind-down, at bedtime, and after waking, with a temporary break when needed.
  • Gentle reminders. Push notifications that help you stay consistent without adding pressure.
  • Daily check-in. Review the habit that matters today and keep track of your progress.
  • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. Keep your bedtime countdown, current habit, and 7-day sleep charts in view, and check off habits right from your Home Screen.
  • Optional wearable support. Use Apple Health sleep data if available, or enter your sleep manually.
  • Privacy-first. No account, local-first data, Apple Health permissions only, and no selling your data.

About the developer

Supersleep was created by Nicolas Bichon, an independent developer based in Montreal, Canada, with 15 years of experience building apps. He previously built Type, a macOS note-taking app, and has spent his career building iOS apps for startups and media companies.

The idea for Supersleep goes back to reading Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker, which argues that the best way to improve sleep is not drugs or medication but simple, healthy habits. Around the same time, Nicolas tried a sleep tracker for the first time. Chasing 8 hours and a perfect sleep score gave him one of the worst weeks of sleep he had ever had. Supersleep is the opposite of that experience: small, progressive habits inspired by how he learned meditation, where one minute a day beats none.

The app icon was designed by Denis Moulin. Supersleep was tested with the help of more than 20 beta testers.

Privacy

Supersleep is private by default: no account required, local-first data, permission-based Apple Health access, and no selling your data. Supersleep never sees which apps you choose to block. The selection is handled on-device through Apple’s Screen Time features and remains on your iPhone.

Supersleep is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent sleep disorders or medical conditions.
